Cold Fighting Tonic
After waking up feeling under the weather this week, I set to work finding a concoction of all of my usual go-to immune boosting favourites. I actually loved the result - I'm a big fan of warm apple cider drinks anyway but when you add the ginger and honey it makes it much more exciting! I've decided to have total faith that this is going to be my miracle cure this winter. Let me know if you get a chance to try it too.
Ingredients (makes 1)
2 slices fresh ginger
1 small piece of fresh or 1/2 teaspoon of ground turmeric
1/2-1 teaspoon of honey
1 tablespoon apple cider vinegar
a pinch of black pepper
Place all the ingredients in a mug, adding the hot water and stirring well. You can drink it as it is, or strain it after letting it steep for about 3-5 minutes.
