Ginger and Turmeric Granola

This spiced granola is a real winner at home for us at the moment. There is no added sugar (not even honey or maple, although you can add a few tablespoons if you prefer something sweeter) so the flavour comes from the spices with a little sweetness from the dried fruit. Of course, if raisins or mulberries aren't your thing, then you could swap them out and you'd have a totally sugar free breakfast ready to go!

What you’ll need

  • 100g of oats

  • 100g of buckwheat groats

  • 75g of sunflower kernels

  • 75g of yellow raisins

  • 75g of dried mulberries

  • 2 handfuls of dried coconut shavings

  • a pinch of salt

  • 2-3 tablespoons of coconut oil

  • 2 teaspoons of ground turmeric

  • 2 teaspoons of ground ginger

what to do

Preheat the oven to 180c.

Place all the ingredients in a mixing bowl, except for the coconut chips, and stir well until everything is evenly mixed.

Then spread onto a large baking tray and cook for 10 minutes. Then add the coconut and bake again for a further 3-5, making sure nothing burns by checking regularly!

Remove from the oven and allow to cool before placing in an airtight container. It will last for a couple of weeks in a cool, dry place!
