Green Tea Lemonade

IMG_3911 This Green Tea Lemonade is such a hit in the warmer summer months. Homemade lemonade, without the added artificial flavourings of the shop-bought version, is an absolute favourite of mine and I love that this recipe has the added bonus of the benefits that come along with green tea. If you're a green tea lover, then this is definitely one for you! This is perfect for making in large batches, simply allow one brewed cup of green tea and 1 1/2 lemons per person. Alternatively, make it for yourself and sip in the sunshine!

 Ingredients (serves 2)

2 cups of brewed green tea

Juice of 3 lemons

A sprig of mint leaves

Brew your green tea as normal by steeping the bag in hot water for the instructed amount of time (it differs per brand). When the tea is brewed pour over ice in cup - make sure it's not glass as the hot-to-cold transition can cause it to shatter. While your tea is cooling down,  juice three lemons and add to the tea when it reaches room temperature. I like to add a few mint leaves while the tea is cooling to partially infuse some of the mint flavour. When the lemon juice and green tea is combined, add more ice to serve ice cold and a few springs of mint to garnish each cup.
