Alkalising Green Juice

A change in season usually brings a whole host of colds and flus making it a perfect time to nourish your body with natural goodness and give your immune system a boost. Juice is such a great way to give your body that extra support it needs and you can build it into your lifestyle without committing to a 30-day juice diet! While I like to give my digestive system a break from time to time with an occasional juice day, I really am not an advocate of long-term cleanses. I do believe though that adding a juice into your diet alongside your regular breakfast or swapping it for your afternoon coffee is one of the best things you can do for your energy, concentration and overall health!

I recently moved house and am now lucky enough to live with an abundance of fruit ad veg stalls on my doorstep which has given me a great excuse to experiment with seasonal produce. This juice is one of my recent discoveries and by far my favourite staple green! In order for all of the different reactions and processes in our body to function efficiently, we need to make sure we have the right pH levels. The food we eat can really effect this, as can the amount of stress we put ourselves under. Imbalances can suppress our immune system and cause a number of problems such as fatigue, brain fog, skin problems and even heart disease. All the ingredients in this simple juice have amazing alkalising properties, helping to restore your body's pH levels, boosting your immune system to help keep you nice and healthy!

what you’ll need

(serves 1)

  • 1 cucumber

  • 1 fennel (or 2 small)

  • 1 broccoli (or 1/2 large)

  • 1 apple

what to do

Wash all of the ingredients thoroughly before juicing. I like to keep the ingredients in the fridge for a cool, refreshing juice - add ice if you prefer.
