Christmas Gift Guide
I've spent some time this weekend trying to do some Christmas shopping and am finding it pretty tricky this year. I have a total aversion to going to busy shopping streets in London and have been sticking to finding things online. The trouble is that you rely entirely on your own mind for inspiration that way rather than aimlessly wondering around until something catches your eye! Anyway, while I've been trawling every website the internet has to offer, I have come across some gifts that I wanted to share with you and so I have put together a wish list/gift guide which I hope will help you with last minute ideas for your health loving friends and family, or just for dropping hints for what you might like to find under the tree! Over the last few months I have really come to understand the importance of having a strong sense of focus and with that in mind I am starting 2016 with an active effort to introduce positive practices into my life. Whether it is business, yoga, training, gratitude or anything else, writing things down and setting intentions is such an easy but active way to encourage positivity and realise our strengths and weaknesses. Or maybe you might just want to keep a journal so you don’t lose all of the little things day to day that we so easily forget. Either way, here are a few of my favourites!
I spend so much of my time in gym kit – running from teaching to meetings to a class etc – so I love being able to do it in one outfit! These Lululemon Free Flow leggings are such a great pair for doing just that. I can throw on a pair of boots and no one will know that I'm in my yoga pants! They also have some really gorgeous other bits in there at the moment so if you are looking for sportswear that looks great and performs well, their site is a great place to start.
Jewellery While I was training in Goa, one of the things I was really excited to learn about was the chakras. When I came home I was given one of the beautiful bracelets from the chakra collection from Daisy London and a beautiful accompanying candle. The collection consists of rings, bracelets and necklaces, each representing one of the 7 chakras. Whether or not chakras are your thing, they make gorgeous gifts and you can combine them with one of the matching candles too if you’re feeling extra generous!
I am also so in love with my gorgeous necklaces from The Colourful Dot. I met Laurey when she did my make up for a shoot and as she worked her wonders on my face, we talked about crystals, healing and all things totally new and wonderful to me. Now Laurey makes the most beautiful jewellery and I wear my necklaces the whole time. So many people ask me where they are from and I think they make the most wonderful presents. You can chose the stone you want based on healing properties to keep it personal too!
Before I left for Goa, the gorgeous team at Hip + Healthy sent me a swell bottle for my trip. I totally underestimated how much of a life saver it would be for me. It's a thermos style bottle so when I wanted my cold water to stay cold on the beach in the sun or in the mornings when I wanted my herbal tea to stay warm, it was perfect! I love it and use it all the time back home too. There are loads of colours and patterns to choose from too so you can find one that your loved one will love!
For the Foodie
As I am sure most of you know, my lovely friend Olivia is the absolute baking genius behind Livia’s Kitchen and this year she has come up with a delicious solution to Christmas desert with her Cake-Pud! It is exclusive to Selfridges but absolutely worth the journey to get your hands on, either as a gift or to serve on Christmas day! I am so proud of everything Livia has achieved this year and if you haven’t tried one of her products yet, then now is definitely a perfect moment!
You probably also know by now but I absolutely adore Raw Halo – their chocolate is delicious and the packaging is just so pretty, making them a really lovely treat to share around at any time of the year, but especially at Christmas. You can buy gift boxes from their website, or pick up some bars from stores like Planet Organic. Christmas time is the perfect excuse for indulging, even more so when it is guilt-free!
I find winter can be so harsh on my skin and its a time when beauty products are a really useful gift. Often a gift set is a great way to go and Pai in particular have put together some gorgeous boxes with their best products for the holiday season. You can choose a ready made gift box to suit the skin of your loved one or take a pick from all of their products to find something special that their skin will thank you for. For all of my beauty and make up recommendations, you can check out my posts - all the products on there would make lovely gifts too!
